Welcome to
Mr Hunte's Classroom

An environment where students aren't simply taught Mathematics, but rather an environment where a passion for the learning of Mathematics is developed.

Useful Philosophies

Many years ago, when I trained in the gym, the instructor often said to us young males who wanted to get a big chest and big arms as quickly as possible, "The fastest thing you will get in the gym is HURT."

Results take time. There is no quick fix to better grades. Practice is paramount to success in Mathematics. Therefore, we do not stop practising a topic once we have gotten a few questions correct. We practise perpetually because we aim for the unattainable standard of PERFECTION.

DON'T PRACTISE UNTIL YOU GET IT RIGHT, PRACTISE UNTIL YOU CAN'T GET IT WRONG.

In 2 Peter 3:16, the apostle Peter stated that some of the things that Paul taught in his letters to the churches were hard to understand. Similarly, there are portions of Mathematics that are hard to understand. However, this does not mean impoosible to understand. With effort and diligence all concepts,  easy or "difficult", can be understood and masterfully applied.

DON'T PRACTISE UNTIL YOU GET IT RIGHT, PRACTISE UNTIL YOU CAN'T GET IT WRONG.

EVERYTHING IN MATHEMATICS MAKES SENSE.

THE MORE YOU KNOW, THE LESS YOU DON'T KNOW.

While knowledge is considered on the lower level in Mathematics, it is still indispensible to the learning process. It is imperative that students know the mathematical formulae taught. This enhances their ability to apply a formula when required.

Students are encouraged to create their own formula/reference sheet as the year progresses. This is a great revision tool.

DON'T FOCUS ON WHAT YOU DON'T KNOW. FOCUS ON WHAT YOU DO KNOW.

Have you ever simply looked at a question and decided that you can't get it done? That's probably because you focused on what you didn't know. Your mentality needs to change. Rather, you need to focus on the part, however small it a be, that you do know. Remember that basic mathematical knowledge is always the starting point.

Here are some very useful programs that can enhance the learning process.
